FAQ
What is a ceilidh?
A ceilidh, pronounced ‘kay-lee’, is a gathering involving Scottish music and dancing. Ceilidh’s are for everyone, and we make sure that everyone can get involved, from first time ceilidh goers to experienced dancers.
Does the band have a caller?
Yes, Caelin is the band’s caller and his job is to walk your guests through the steps of each dance before getting started.
What dances do you do?
We always like to provide a mix of well known dances, such as Gay Gordons and the Dashing White Sergeants, as well as less well-known dances to keep things interesting for experienced ceilidh goers. Check out our dances page for more information!
How long do you play for?
Our set timings are designed to be flexible based on each individual event. An average set from us lasts between 2 and 3 hours, with a 20 minute break in the middle.
Will you travel?
Yes! While we are based in Glasgow we travel across the country.
Do you supply a PA System?
Yes, we have our own PA system fit for events of all sizes. Need a PA system for the rest of your event? Get in touch with you needs and we can see how we can accommodate you.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance?
Yes, the band is covered for up to £10,000,000 and a copy of our current PLI certificate can be sent upon request.
How long does it take you to set up?
We typically take an hour to unload, set up and soundcheck. We usually do this the hour right before we go on. However, we can do this set up earlier if needed, so let us know if this is the case.
What is your booking process?
Once the details of your event are agreed, we will need a 10% deposit to hold the date for you. We will then send a confirmation document.
